Ryder’s Xchange Delivery Rider Usage Policy

1. Purpose

This policy outlines the conditions under which vehicles listed on Ryder’s Xchange may be used for commercial delivery services, including platforms such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, Menulog, and other courier services.

Many delivery platforms require riders to hold a valid licence, vehicle registration, and insurance before starting deliveries.

2. Approved Commercial Use

Renters may use a vehicle for delivery services only if the host explicitly allows commercial use in the listing.

If not permitted, the vehicle must not be used for:

  • Food delivery
  • Courier services
  • Parcel delivery
  • Gig-economy platforms

Unauthorized commercial use may result in penalties, loss of deposit, or account suspension.

3. Renter Responsibilities for Delivery Use

Renters using a vehicle for delivery services must ensure they:

  • Hold a valid driver’s licence for the vehicle type
  • Comply with Australian road laws
  • Maintain active delivery platform accounts
  • Ensure the vehicle is legally registered and compliant
  • Follow all delivery platform safety rules

Delivery platforms may require background checks and vehicle documentation before approval.

4. Safety Requirements

Renters must follow safety standards while delivering:

  • Wear a helmet at all times
  • Use high-visibility safety gear when possible
  • Carry items in a secure delivery bag
  • Obey all road laws and traffic signals

Proper safety equipment reduces risks and ensures compliance with delivery regulations.

5. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Reckless or dangerous riding
  • Transporting illegal goods
  • Allowing unauthorized riders
  • Modifying the vehicle without approval
  • Using the vehicle for unapproved commercial use

Violations may result in account suspension, deposit loss, or platform termination.

6. Insurance and Liability

Delivery riders must ensure they have valid insurance coverage. Most delivery platforms require personal insurance, and platform insurance may only apply during active delivery trips. Renters remain responsible for any damage occurring during the rental period.
