Ryder’s Xchange Late Return & Extension Policy

1. Returning the Vehicle

Renters must return the vehicle:

  • At the agreed location
  • At the agreed booking expiry date and time
  • In the same condition it was received

If the vehicle is returned late, additional charges may apply in accordance with this policy and the Ryder’s Xchange Terms & Conditions.

2. Late Return Fees

Delay Period Possible Fee
Up to 30 minutes Grace period
30 minutes – 2 hours Additional hourly fee
Over 2 hours Additional day charge

Excessive or repeated late returns may result in account restrictions, suspension, or additional penalties at the discretion of Ryder’s Xchange.

3. Automatic Charges for Unapproved Extensions

If a vehicle is not returned on time and no official extension is approved, the system may automatically apply additional charges.

Charges are calculated at the applicable daily rental rate of $50 per day and may include:

  • Administrative processing fees
  • Late return fees
  • Booking management and recovery costs
  • Other applicable charges under Terms & Conditions

Automatic deductions continue until the vehicle is returned or the booking is officially extended through the platform.

4. Booking Extensions

To extend a booking, renters must:

  • Submit an extension request via the platform
  • Wait for host approval
  • Pay additional rental charges before confirmation

Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and host approval. Submission does not guarantee approval.

5. Failure to Return the Vehicle

If a renter fails to return the vehicle and does not communicate with the host or Ryder’s Xchange:

  • The vehicle may be classified as unreturned
  • Additional fees and recovery costs may apply
  • Vehicle recovery actions may be initiated
  • Law enforcement may be contacted where appropriate

Ryder’s Xchange reserves the right to take further action under applicable law and platform Terms & Conditions.
